Behind The Scenes
The AGBA Board would like to introduce one of our behind the scenes helpers: Hi! I'm Kaede, owner behind The Citrus Dragon. I started my journey with Arapawas in 2024, but my overall love for animals started when I was little. At 17 I got my first leopard gecko, and now I own what I call my mini zoo with all sorts of reptiles, a bird, fish, my dogs and cats, my goats, and a horse! My passion for conservation overlaps my joy of creation, as I've been drawing ever since I could

Farmbrite: Conner Prairie's System
One of the biggest parts of livestock keeping, especially with an endangered breed, is record keeping. Birth dates, weights, vaccinations, locations on or off property - all of this goes into keeping animals and assuring we are aware and present with our animals. Focusing more on our bucks over our does in this reading, performance and age is key. Bucks are typically fertile and able to get a female pregnant around 4 mont

Moving into Spring
Exciting times are coming for many of our breeders throughout the United States. With Spring comes kids, but also comes dreaded parasites. While goats naturally have a bit of a worm load, the weather change and increase of damp conditions can cause a rise in that. This is when we appreciate having a breed hardier to it all than others! This is when we all jump for joy as we see numbers increase on farms everywhere. Some have already welcomed new kids to theirs, while others

Goats on the Move
We are excited to announce our breed is now being represented at the Tulsa Zoo in Oklahoma! With the addition of 4 bucklings to their contact yards, more people are now able to interact with the breed and learn about them and their place on a farm. Zoos can play an important key role in conservation efforts and education. They can bring in people from all across the nation, and opening these animals to contact yards and close interactions builds bonds you can't always get fr
