Welcome to the World!

The year of 2025 has already started with a bang, a welcoming of a little Arapawa Island kid named 'Onyx' from the Rare Hare Barn in Kansas.

This little goat is another link in our fight to keep this breed alive, and little doelings like her will be able to add genetics to our limited gene pool and provide for their breed as they get older. From being able to breed to increasing milk supply for further dairy study, each new doeling has quite the job ahead of them. For now, though, she gets to enjoy time getting loved on not only by her mom, but her caretakers. She can go on living a care free life so that she can grow big and strong.

We would like to thank not only the Rare Hare Barn, but every breeder out there that is putting in the efforts to preserve this breed. You are heroes, and we will ever be grateful for the work, courage, and hope you share. To our members, our hobby owners, thank you as well! You play just as much of a role in this breed's survival as our breeders do. And for every kid born this winter and within this new year, welcome to the world. It's big and it's wonderful.

We wish everyone luck in this new year with their breeding programs, and cannot wait to see what new kids will join us!
