Update to the NZ Standard

As we work to keep this breed alive, following a standard is critically important for having a unique breed that is hardy, well maintained, and will continue to thrive in the future. This means everything from assuring proper structure and shape all the way to even specific colors within the breed.

The New Zealand Association has been making further steps to genetic testing requirements and updating their breed standard to assure we can keep on track with conservation efforts and further breeding practices. It's important to remember that healthy stock is the future, not just numbers!

We wanted to share their updated standards so you could see how your herd might shape up to them! You can find it here: https://arapawagoats.com/standard.html

Thank you to our NZ friends for keeping on your toes with revival for this breed, and we are happy to work alongside in the fight!
