Kidding has well already begun for a lot of our breeders, but it's never too late to look over your supplies and assure you have everything. We asked our breeders what they always had on hand, and luckily the list doesn't find itself too long if you're having kids drop in the warmer months! Towels, gloves, and lube are going to be some of your best friends if you need to help the mom out. Assure your towels are clean but unscented, and be prepared to get a little messy! Iodine is a common thing to also have on hand if you plan to dip umbilical cords. This isn't practiced at every ranch, but never a bad thing to have on hand! Baby monitors and cameras are utilized for some folks in their barns to keep a close eye on moms nearing due dates and babies once they hit the ground. The type may vary based on your internet situation and distance to your house, but luckily there are many options out there.
Bottles and milk replacement can be crucial to have ready in the case a mother rejects her baby/babies. That, or if you plan to bottle-raise the kids once they come around. Having these ready to go can save you a quick needed trip to the store.
Patience is going to be one of the biggest ones. From waiting for your moms to go into labor, to with yourself, patience will help you and your moms get through it all.
Last but not least, remember these wise words of our president: "Be mentally prepared to have your plans ruined".
